Our Funders
The Gardeners’ House was the brainchild of the late Dr Melissa Hardie-Budden and under her inspiration the concept has evolved into the solid business plan that we will be putting into action. Through the support of our funders this has been possible – without them the Gardeners’ House would still be no more than a great idea. Thank you to:
The Architectural Heritage Fund provided funding to support the initial work on the business plan, capital building works surveys and a 2 year membership to Fit for the Future which is an environmental sustainability network for charities, heritage organisations, cultural venues. https://ahfund.org.uk/
The Cornwall Community Foundation (CCF) has provided funding from the Tanner Phoenix Trust to support a community arts project which will commission local crafts people to make elements of the Sensory Garden
Cornwall Council has worked to enable us to use the building in Morrab Gardens, leasing it to us for a nominal rent https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/
The National Lottery Heritage Fund has awarded a grant which will cover the first two years operating costs as well as a major contribution to renovation work on the building. www.heritagefund.org.uk
Penzance Council gave a grant to match fund and support cash flow during the development period of the project. https://www.penzance-tc.gov.uk/
Penzance Town Deal funding will enable capital building work on renovation of the old stable block in Morrab Gardens. The Gardeners’ House is among seven projects in Penzance supported by the Government’s Town Deal Fund. www.penzancetownfund.co.uk
